FOMO (Fear of Missing Out)

FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out): fear of not being included in something, such as an interesting or enjoyable activity, that others are experiencing.
Social media is not the only thing that causes FOMO, people have always experienced it as a consequence of the fear of being excluded from something great, or the feeling that their sense of belonging to a group could be threatened by not participating in certain experiences πŸ“³
πŸ”—Having said this, we must emphasise that social medias facilitate and encourage it.
The more time people spend on social media and base their relationships on interactions that occur on social media, the more they are at risk of experiencing FOMO, compared to those who use social media more consciously πŸ“΅
FOMO may be associated with mental health problems, feelings of increased stress, decreased life satisfaction and lower productivity 😰.
